JOURNAL OF AQUATIC BIOTOXINS (JAB)

The Scope of Journal

Biotoxins are hazardous substances produced by and derived from aquatic microorganisms, animals, and plants that can be harmful when inhaled, ingested, injected, or absorbed. Depending on the source of toxin, the amount and the route of exposure, health effects can range from a minor rash following a moon jellyfish encounter to a large scale harmful algae outbreak that poses severe consequences on public health, food safety, and economy.

The Journal of Aquatic Biotoxins is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes research findings on the chemical and biological characterization of marine and freshwater biotoxins, biology and ecology of source organisms and toxin bioaccumulation, distribution and metabolism in the food web. The Journal welcomes research that use valid designs and methods to investigate new applications for toxin mitigation and treatment, examine novel biomarkers of aquatic ecotoxicity assessment and predictions, and the use of biotechnological platforms to field and laboratory monitoring and detection of toxins.   The journal covers data from many interested fields including toxicology, biotechnology, chemistry, molecular biology, and pharmacology.

The Journal publishes full-length research articles, rapid communications,  and mini review/review articles FREE of charges.
